The expansion of the existing Terminal Apron at Charleston International Airport included approximately nine acres of apron pavement surrounding the existing apron to accommodate future concourse expansion. Approximately five acres of apron expansion was built for the additional RON (remaining overnight) parking areas. The project also included high mast lighting for the new remaining overnight aprons, storm drainage improvements and airfield lighting. This project was performed in five phases in an effort to ensure the airport’s continued operation during construction.
