Location: Clemson, South Carolina
Construction Value: $7 Million
Client: LS3P Associates, Ltd.
An historic building dating to the late 1800s was renovated to remove the interior wood floor structure and replaced with steel and concrete framing to better suit the University’s classroom needs. The original exterior walls and historic staircase were left in place. Temporary lateral wall bracing was designed to support the walls during construction. The foundation loads were designed to have minimal impact of the existing brick walls. Cantilevered footings were utilized to keep soil loads away from the walls.
