Mark Dillon is the president and co-founder of ADC Engineering, Inc. and serves the firm as a structural project manager and design engineer. As principal structural engineer Mark performs structural design and analysis for all aspects of structural systems, including new designs and forensic investigations. He is also responsible for the development and coordination of proposals, bid documents and construction administration services.
As part of continued registration requirements for several states, Mark continues specialized course work and research in wind / earthquake analysis and continuing education courses for structural failures, blast structures, masonry structures, roofing systems, seismic design, and flood loads.
His work experience includes a broad range of projects such as commercial construction, special industrial structures, numerous government projects for such agencies as NAVFAC, Corps of Engineers, state and local municipalities, and institutional work such as schools, universities, hospitals and nursing homes.
Some of Mark's most notable projects have brought challenges that include designs for immediate occupancy structures in high-seismic zones, designs for buildings in hurricane-prone regions, renovations of historic properties, seismic upfits for multi-story buildings, unique loadings for medical and educational buildings, floodproofing, sloping sites, and retaining walls. Those projects include MUSC's Children's Hospital and Women's Pavilion, Buist Academy, Dock Street Theatre, Wild Dunes Resort Village and Convention Center, Spectator Hotel, and Trident Technical Nursing and Sciences Building.
